I'm working with a high‑growth, product‑led scale‑up who are rebuilding their entire data layer in‑house after moving away from their legacy systems and processes.
They are in need of a hands‑on Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and own a clean PostgreSQL‑based backend data platform that powers the next phase of their growth.
Must‑Have
- PostgreSQL (design, modelling, optimisation)
- SQL and relational database engineering
- Building backend data services (APIs, views, pipelines, ETL/ELT)
- Data integration with operational systems
- ADF or similar orchestration tools
- Migrating/decommissioning legacy data platforms
Nice‑to‑Have
- Experience in scale‑ups or lean engineering teams
- Exposure to financial services
- Understanding of how front‑end teams consume data
- Reverse‑engineering EUC processes (spreadsheets, scripts, ad‑hoc logic)
Contract Details
- £500-£525 per day
- Outside IR35
- 12‑month initial engagement
- Hybrid: roughly 4 days per month in the office (rest remote)
