TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
Location: Remote. (Office in Edinburgh)
Working Pattern: Full-time
Security: Eligibility for UK security clearance required
We're partnering with a Microsoft Solutions Partner, delivering solutions to complex Identity and Access Management (IAM) challenges. Working with modern cloud and identity platforms, the team helps organisations improve security, streamline onboarding, and operate more efficiently.
They're looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join their delivery team, working on high-impact projects for UK and international clients. This is a hands-on role, well suited to someone who enjoys working close to technology and engaging directly with customers.
You will play a central role in agile project delivery, key responsibilities in backlog management, technical stakeholder engagement, and requirement refinement, ensuring that IAM solutions align with client goals and Microsoft Entra capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead or support requirements gathering workshops
- Understand and document business needs, processes, and pain points
- Produce clear, structured functional and non-functional requirements
- Translate requirements into business-level acceptance criteria
- Create process flows, use cases, and sequence diagrams
- Support agile delivery through backlog refinement and sprint activities
- Define testable goals for implementation teams
- Act as a bridge between customers, architects, and developers
REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- Strong BA experience across the full SDLC
- Experience delivering in cloud-based environments
- Confident stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience modelling processes using tools such as UML, Visio, Bizagi, PlantUML, or Mermaid
- Clear communicator with strong problem-solving skills
Desirable
- Experience working in agile/SCRUM teams
- Exposure to identity, security, or regulated environments
- Awareness of secure development practices
- Knowledge of GDPR or information governance
- Formal BA or agile qualifications
